André Fabien Francis
André is the founder of @Step1.Reflect , an initiative dedicated to promoting leadership pathways for individuals from marginalised backgrounds.
With over twenty years of experience in the arts industry, André has danced, lectured, created work, assisted, and been mentored both nationally and internationally. He draws inspiration from working with renowned artists, theatres, and organisations such as Antoine Vereecken, Antony Van Laast, Artistry Youth Dance, Buddy Watkins, Disney Theatrical Group, Ellen Kane, Geoffrey Garratt, Hackney Empire, Jane Sanig, MPAA, Rambert School, The Place: London Contemporary Dance School, The Royal Academy of Music, Theatre Royal Stratford East, and the late Thea Barnes.
André’s international performance career includes credits in productions such as The Lion King, Wicked, Kiss Me Kate, Hairspray, Joseph, Saturday Night Fever, and A Chorus Line. Before this, he trained at The Ailey School’s Summer Intensive in 2013, completed The Place: Centre for Advanced Training Programme, and graduated with Honours from London Studio Centre.
In 2020, André was headhunted to join the faculty at Trinity Laban. Since then, he has completed a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography, become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and contributed his expertise as an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Consultant.
